Slowing

I don’t think I’ve spoken to anyone lately who isn’t busy. It seems that life is gradually getting a little more crazy and time is slipping out of our fingers. Throw kids into the mix and things go up another level. Maybe even add a baby that likes to party all night and …. hello!

In the midst of trying to keep up with family, friends, work, church, kids activities etc etc we can often find ourselves weary. We get so busy pouring out to everyone else that we forget to stop and look after ourselves.

The more we pour out to others, the more essential it is that we stop and allow Jesus to pour into us. We can't draw from an empty well. We actually need to sit at His feet and dwell in His presence. We need to feed on His Word and worship Him.

What a hope we have in Jesus, that he desires to be with us, to take our burdens and refresh our souls.

Matthew 11:28-30 says; “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Let me encourage you today to spend some time with Him. Give Him your burden and allow Him to refresh your soul.
